The “dream” was only ever aimed at and designed for certain segments of the population, especially back then, others have generally been denied it (if not outright, then practically), from its conception.
But it would have been and still is possible to achieve this for the general population
On the backs of those marginalised segments of society, just like today.
The convenience the privileged experience doesn’t just materialise out of thin air.
There is no separating the two - prosperity under capitalism (and feudalism before it) come at the expense of other people. Always.
