I was cycling on this section of road the other day and had a laugh at the sign to the right which shows a car, cyclist, and pedestrian with the words “Share the road” written underneath.

You’ll notice that both the bike lane and “sidewalk” end just after the sign, leading both cyclists and pedestrians into an uphill, blind turn where aggressive motorists absolutely do not share an inch of that very narrow lane.

“Share the road” is like asking all the kids in the classroom to give their lunch to the class bully.

As a ped, I’d cross and walk into traffic on this one… maybe take some lane for visibility in the saddle

The issue is that the cars that WILL try to pass you, even while you take the lane, will be forced to come back into the lane because of the oncoming vehicles on that blind turn.

The fact that it’s uphill means that any pedestrian or cyclist will be moving slower than normal, so this adds to the frustration of motorists, who will do stupid things as a result.
