Apple themselves have been using usb c since 2015 in their laptops. They knew then that it was superior, but would be much harder to sell overpriced accessories for.

Strange how I’ve had lightning devices since 2012 and never bought one of those ‘overpriced accessories’. But I’ve lost count of all the USB-C-to-something-else adapters I’ve got floating around.

If you’ve charged your phone you’ve paid for their overpriced accessories due to the mfi program. They basically put drm on the charging cable that you either had to pay them licensing for.

Oh, so you mean the cable that was included with my phone was overpriced, and somehow my phone would have been substantially cheaper if it hadn’t been for the cable?

Apple used USB C in laptops because of the power requirements.

I’ve got plenty of lightning accesssories. Only one of those is made by Apple. Lots of cheap 3rd party lighting alternatives available

Every one of those accessories could have been cheaper if apple didn’t effectively drm their port through the mfi program.

A couple things. All the cables there are pretty overpriced imo vs what I can get on Amazon from like cables to go or ugreen. You’re also comparing cables with half the conductors of those usb c cables and with higher Guage power cables to hit the higher amperage that usb c allows.
