does anybody use this for a normal home desktop setting? How is performamce? I was looking at this to use my server to host my desktop OS. so i can just back it up together with my normal backup

I believe this was often done with those thin clients in library’s and such. For some light office work. But the issue is that the OS needs to live entirely in memory. So you want your hone folder be mounted from the server. which gets tricky really fast.
