if youre am*rican its illegal to boycott them.
The supreme court sucks and everyone hates them for this (among many other reasons), but they indeed decreed that MONEY IS SPEECH
and I have a RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT.
You, as a person, can boycott whomever you like, and be loud or silent about it. The law is applied only to companies.
Why is it that this sounds suspiciously like a “Jews run the media so you can’t criticize Israel” kind of post?
Honestly this is a big problem with being able to criticize Isreal in good faith - it’s all too easy to be taken as an antisemite.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure loads of antisemites are out there pretending to be concerned about Gaza while actually just using it as an excuse to hate jews - but the OP is describing very real issues - like the thing with Havard just last week where companies were rescinding job offers based on who supported Gaza and condemned Isreal
Projection.
“Certain groups” is a pretty big dogwhistle compared to “a certain nation”
“certain group”
This certain group runs many big corporations/industries. They are also very sensitive (with good reason tbf) about things their people have endured in the past. That makes them hard to criticize.
I’m not at risk of losing my job so I’ll be explicit. The group who is committing genocide is the current Israeli government and its supporters throughout the world, including many US politicians who are primarily Christian. The condemnable group is not Jewish people in general by ethnicity or religion throughout Israel or the world, of whom there is no kind collective action or even agreement. People of all ethnicities and faiths throughout the world, including many Jewish people, want to stop the siege and mass killing of primarily civilians currently being performed by the Israeli government.

Thanks for sharing with the class that you want corporations to control speech and do the government’s job for it, you clown.
