You can read books all you want, but a book written last year won’t tell you anything about, say, a shoddily built recreational submersible that just imploded near the Titanic. But you wouldn’t know since you only use books for getting your opinions on current events.
Nothing against books at all, they’re good stuff. But they lag behind current events due to very obvious reasons.
