It’s moderately common in my country where coffee is often consumed for the caffeine content and not the taste. We call it the “thief’s coffee” because it’s minimal prep to get your fix quickly, almost as if you were committing a burglary lol

Formerly Gentoo, now TumbleWeed user. But this chart doesn’t align
I put the ground coffee (a lot of it) in the mug and pour hot water. Stir it a bit later, then the grounds stay put in the bottom usually. I’ve been told I drink asphalt, but then I just feel like everyone drinks very weak coffee. I do this because I want it to be a quick process, I don’t want to buy a fancy machine that requires maintenace, and I want my coffee to have a proper kick.
What distro does this mean?
Should be installing Firefox anyway, otherwise why don’t you just use Edge, it’s also Chromium…
Yeah I’d much rather take that over any sexuality. It’s a much deeper insight into my personality than just “straight”.
His official title is commander-in-chief. The generals answer to him AFAIK.
I reckon that in all likelihood the Project 2025 folks will piss him off at some point and he’ll just throw a tantrum and refuse to work with them. Doesn’t mean he’ll suddenly turn into a leftist, but if he doesn’t play ball, they’ll have trouble getting anything passed.
It would help your point if you told us what these virtual spaces being bulldozed are.
Not to devalue your point, but if you truly were spending (10 + 3*75 + 20)*30 + 150 per month (so a total of 7800 USD) and you invest it in an index fund getting back 5%, you’ll have your million in 10 years. 8 years at 10% which is the long-term growth rate of DJIA and S&P 500.
You’ll still never be the richest person in the world, but if you truly were burning away that much money, you could make decent dough just from investing it passively. In 30 years you’d have like 15 million, more than enough to retire.
Now the only real problem is that nearly nobody is actually burning that much cash and the “stop eating avocado toast” suggestions are indeed stupid af.
I got a knock last night. I had to apologize and say there’s no candy - I don’t live in the US. We have our own similar traditions on St. Martin’s day and St. Catherine’s day. The article for the latter even describes it: Wiki, though for either day you can click on the Estonian Wikipedia article to get a more complete description.
I suppose in the coming years I’ll have to start stocking candy for Halloween too because I don’t really want to disappoint a bunch of kids. Though to be fair, I don’t think they did much trick or treating anyway, they mostly just opened their bag and asked for candy - so it felt kinda lazy. When I was a kid, I remember groups of kids would come knock on our door for either Mardipäev or Kadripäev and they’d usually have something like a song or dance prepared, or at least told us riddles.
Fortunately, you can read through the source code of SearxNG and even modify it - provided that you also publish the modified version to your users if you host it publicly.
You can run your own instance, public or private. Or you can use a public instance.
Internally, it uses other search engines, rather than crawling the entire web and indexing everything.
“We’ll try anything as long as it fits in our exact worldview and doesn’t inconvenience us in any way whatsoever”
Meanwhile remote-first companies are saving money on office space and can use that to hire more people, while also immediately being greener than a company with commuters that have to worship the concrete temple.
I doubt they want my fun and safe math optimizations either tbh
Would rather they just be sued to hell and skip the back part.
I’m neither a, s nor p lmao.
So why don’t you move back to Russia? Presumably you still have a citizenship.
So many Russians abroad praise the homeland while enjoying the relative freedom that other countries bring to the table. Yet none seem to understand that others don’t want to live in Russia either.
Ukrainians tend to be proud of their national identity - which, yes, I know, only Russians are allowed to be, but apparently many people don’t seem to care - so it’s pretty hard to convince them to go back to being second class citizens of yet another attempt at a Russian Empire.
They have no reason not to at this point.
Do you think a single Ukrainian wants to live under Russian rule now? The few I’ve spoken to don’t even want to be spoken to in the language and that was even BEFORE 2014.
Wow, POV is used correctly for a change!
Dude, most of Europe is also pledged to help the US when attacked. In fact the US is the ONLY country ever to have invoked article 5.
Ukraine is not a member but is strategically important to NATO because it’s strategically important to the Russian empire’s restoration, which we kinda want to prevent. Plus they’ll be a powerful ally once they can join, which they really want to nowadays.
Now the US could go full isolationist, but if a Russian-Chinese alliance takes over all of Eurasia, y’all are really going to lose out on a lot of trade and access to resources, plus might actually be susceptible to invasion if you have no allies left.
Brave of you to say it on ml where a lot of people support Putin’s goal of restoring the empire.
The freezer itself produces heat too though.
There’s no pot involved here, you put it in the mug, but ideally you also use a super fine grind so it stays in the mug usually
Oh fair enough
To be fair I didn’t mean to insinuate that it’s manlier to drink literal mud, it’s just how my mom always made it for herself when I was a kid and I just… learned to like it. It’s very much an acquired taste. But yes, there’s always a moment of pride when people say “wtf how can you drink this shit” :)
