I see it reported all over that the voice cast is returning but what about the writing staff?
It’s even funnier/worse then I expected.
Jerboa notices that’s a link and makes it click able but clicking it opens my default email client instead of anything lemmy.
That linked reddit thread is accusing the poster of being a karma bot. Does lemmy already have those?
Is such a funny mix of “must be so retro” and "that carpet still looks new
Cosmic encounter was always my favorite in college. Not popular enough that I can find local people to play now though.
It’s only a few bucks a month. I think so.
The only thing I don’t like is needing to be logged in to search. That always feels like a huge invasion of privacy. The at least claim that they don’t log search contents though
I’m shocked spez gave redreader a shout out as still trying to work with them.
That’s an other dev (quantumbadger) I would expect to be honest with his community. He’d been pretty vocal in earlier updates that he wasn’t going to be able to pay them at any price since his app is FOSS and distributed as source.
Curious what his next update will say.
I loved the commentary on that exchange from hackernews.

The rule that you shouldn’t build your business on someone else’s API obviously applies here and in the end Reddit is of course justified in choosing to shut out third party apps. But I must say it is simply hilarious that their exorbitant new price was so absurd that when devs quoted it back to them as a buyout rate, Reddit felt like they were being blackmailed. I mean that’s literally getting offended at your own number. “”"

What’s actually different about it?
Right? My first thought was he doesn’t even leave footprints on a beach. Second thought is wtf brain - it’s a noodle.
Love it
What does it actually cost? I have no basis for a ballpark guess even. I’ve seen this question asked to a number of admins and haven’t seen a direct answer.
It’s hard to judge how sustainable a donation based approach is without that info.
